After the match between Inui Pure and Kuroi Tasuku ended, Yuuya decides to commence with his plans of starting a war against his enemies. He first looks for [[Kuroi Tasuku]] to find Pure and makes a deal with her that he will become an investor for both of them to become Brutes. Initially, Tasuku tries to scare him but notices his strong fearlessness and accepts his deal. After arriving to where Pure was at, he sees Tasuku beating up a corrupt government official and remarks on how Pure was so easily tricked by a scam. When the bureau official woke up, he threatens Yuuya with banishment from the therianthrope island by using his status but is threatened back by Yuuya after the man uses Shidou's name, stating that he would send a report to Shidou on the bureau official's abuse of power. The bureau official backs down to Yuuya's threat as Tasuku starts to think about his real identity. Yuuya then brings his attention to Pure on how he will provide her money for her to enroll in a public school and that he will arrange a match for her tomorrow.

To get her ready, Yuuya trains Pure at the park using a dog whistle.

A few days later, Yuuya discovers that there is an illegal fight going on with his Brutes in a place on the outskirts of the city called Carrot Field. When he arrives at the scene, he finds Tasuku fighting [[Saino Teppei]] and immediately seeks out the person in charge to demand the fight to be stopped, only to find Pure alongside [[Inaba Ui]], who was the person behind it all. Ui immediately recognizes him as the Ratel's sponsor in the Destroyale from two years ago. Yuuya then states that this happened a long time ago and it was no longer true. Before Yuuya could say anything else, he is confronted by [[Arimori Go]] and [[Lambert Ogata]] who wanted to hear in detail about Ui's victory. Yuuya then tells them that it was all just a fluke that Ui won, which causes them to become confused by his answer. Ui, out of fear of being unmasked, quickly drags Yuuya to a private place and explains the situation about her going along with the rumors about being a big shot for winning the undocumented Destroyale and begs him not to tell the truth to anyone about how she actual won. Deciding to taking advantage of her situation, Yuuya makes a deal with Ui, saying that he will keep queit if Ui arranged a fight between Pure and [[Oogami Riku]]. He then goes to confront both Pure and Tasuku for disobeying his orders and is told by them that the reason they are at Carrot Field is that they lost in a fight against Ratel at school. Yuuya understands where they were coming from but tells them that he would rather have them fight in a much bigger arena, which he was referring to this year's Killing Bites championship tournament, much to their shock.

During Pure's fight, after realizing that she won't be able to win on her own, Yuuya decides to help her using his whistle to give her commands, which quickly impresses everyone around, due to the remarkable improvement in her movements, reflexes, and attacks. Just by following her master's commands, Pure was able to take down a veteran opponent despite being an amateur. After the victory, Pure jumps on Yuuya's arms, hugging him, which made Hitomi who was watching the scene very jealous.

Yuuya exclaims that the hell he's living isn't worth being called life, Hitomi retorts saying that she too lived a hard life and that only made her stronger. When the atmosphere between the two got tense, Pure decides to help them get along, by telling Hitomi how much Yuuya liked her and how much he wanted to see her, which made the two blush. Lastly, Yuuya tells her that he'll not stop until he has his revenge, and Hitomi replies that she will do anything at her power to stop him. After Hitomi left, Pure asks if Yuuya wants her to follow Hitomi, but he says that it is not necessary, because there are no words that can express his feelings towards her.

Killing Bites Destroyal Arc

When Yuuya was done with his classes for the day, some of his classmates invited him to hang out with them to see some girls, which he agreed to join. Not knowing that a gang rape was planned, Yuuya's classmates abducts a girl into a vehicle while he was on the wheel. Yuuya stops the van seeing as how he can not go through with their sexual offense, however, the girl they kidnapped kills his classmates and tells Yuuya to keep driving. After he stops at a junkyard, Yuuya runs out to find help and encounters the Brute Leo who he provokes. Yuuya then witnesses the girl, who reveals herself to be the Brute Ratel Uzaki Hitomi, fight and defeat Leo in a Killing Bites, much to his confusion and shock in the situation. After protecting him from Leo, Yuuya becomes grateful to Hitomi and takes her back to his apartment to treat her wounds.

The next day, Yuuya accompanies Hitomi to a dessert restaurant and meets Shidou Reiichi who explains the notion of Killing Bites and assigns Hitomi to live with Yuuya as he is coerced to be her sponsor, beginning his involvement in the Killing Bites much to his chagrin. Later, Yuuya goes out to retrieve items Hitomi demanded of him but is attacked by Brute Raudi who demands to know the location of Hitomi. Hitomi appears to confront Raudi but witnesses her defeat thanks to the unsuspected arrival of another Brute named Okajima Ichinosuke who has come to ask for Hitomi's help in the next Killing Bites. At first Hitomi denies the request to assist the Ishida Zaibatsu but happily changes her mind after Yuuya shows her a text he received from Shidou about agreeing to cooperate.

After having his leg injury looked at in the hospital, Yuuya is accompanied by Hitomi to his college. He then finds Hitomi trying to chase down a Brute named Nakanishi Eruza while exposing her battle mode to everyone around. Moriyama, Yuuya's friend, confronts Yuuya after seeing Hitomi and believes that she is a cosplayer. To cover up her identity as a therianthrope, Yuuya convinces Hitomi and Eruza into cosplaying for his club members. Afterwards, Yuuya heads to his apartment while Hitomi is taken by Eruza to a dessert restaurant to discuss private matters. He then shockingly finds Tani Yuugo, Brute Leo, and the chairwoman of the Mitsukado Zaibatsu, Mitsukado Youko, in his room who requests that he withdraw from the Killing Bites Destroyal due to the risks of putting Hitomi in danger. Despite being informed, Yuuya decides that it would be best for him to talk to Hitomi on whether or not they should participate or not. Later, Hitomi returns and says that she will participate in the tournament and drags Yuuya to another location to discuss their plan for the Destoryal.

One week later, Yuuya sits in at the players table along with the other Zaibatsu representatives as the Killing Bites Destroyal begins. After Shinada Masanobu finishes their turn to move his piece, Yuuya is then selected to choose where Hitomi will advance. Though he is warned by Youko about the player needing to knowing about the layout of the island, and is looked down on for being an amateur, Yuuya shocks everyone after moving Hitomi to an ideal spot, using the plan Hitomi had worked out before the tournament by listening to her instructions (hand signals) through the monitors on where she would like to move. He then witnesses Hitomi's victory over Brute Bear and Brute Tiger's fearsome strength over Brute Hippopotamus, Brute Crocodile, and Brute Gorilla. After noticing on the board that Nakanishi Eruza (Brute Cheetah) is being pursued by Brute Gecko and Brute Cobra, Yuuya moves Hitomi to her location to provide support since he took into consideration her and Eruza's friendship, much to Hitomi's shock for being able to take the initiative without her say so. Yuuya is then laughed at by the audience for making such an idiotic move and is angrily scolded by Youko for dishonoring Killing Bites.

After the camera crew arrives to film the fight, Yuuya becomes shocked to see Hitomi unable to combat against Brute Gecko but sees her switch opponents with Eruza and take down Brute Cobra. After watching Kido Takeshi brutally slaughter Brute Crocodile, Yuuya becomes terrified and decides that it would be best for Hitomi to go and rescue Ichinosuke. The monitor then switches over to Hitomi's location where she engages in a fight against Brute Tiger. Yuuya worries for Hitomi after Brute Tiger prepares to fight seriously and is pressured by Youko to move her. However, Yuuya boldly makes the choice to pass on his turn to move Hitomi since he has confidence in her abilities. Shortly after, Yuuya shockingly witnesses Hitomi being knocked out by a sudden attack by Kido, who was moved by Youko earlier to relocate to Brute Ratel's location. He then realizes that he was set up by Youko to have Brute Tiger stay in his current location by not moving Hitomi so Kido could fight in a more comfortable territory. As a result, Kido (Brute Pangolin) manages to take down Brute Tiger and prepares to move on to killing Hitomi. However, Hitomi wakes up and takes down Kido after assuming a different transformation, much to Yuuya's surprise. The Killing Bites Destroyal then ends with Brute Rabbit's victory over Brute Cheetah.

A few weeks after winning the Destroyal, Yuuya returns to living his normal life but receives an unexpected text message from Hitomi, asking him to meet her in the junkyard where everything began. After arriving, Yuuya thanks Hitomi for giving him the experience of standing up to himself for the first time Hitomi and states that he has come to understand her catchphrase. Hitomi responses thinking that Yuuya was confessing his love for her, much to his surprise, and thanks him for everything he has done to help her. After thanking him, Yuuya is slashed across the chest by Hitomi and is left to die.

Unknown to Hitomi and Shidou, who ordered her to kill Yuuya, Yuuya is found and saved by the Ishida Zaibatsu after undergoing Theriomorphosis Surgery, turning him into a Crow therianthrope. After being declared dead, Yuuya secretly walks in on his own funeral and developed a deep hatred for the Killing Bites organizations, sponsors, and Hitomi, seeing as how he is forced to live a life in secret from his family and friends due to the influence and power of the Bureau that managed to legalize Theriomorphosis Surgery. While keeping a low profile for two years, Yuuya spent his time training in martial arts and doing extensive research on animals, as well as plotting a vendetta against the people who stabbed him in the back, starting with find a therianthrope that would have the potential of defeating Hitomi in Killing Bites.

After Hitomi makes her leave, Pure asks if Yuuya wanted to follow her. Yuuya says that it was not necessary because there are no words that can express his feelings towards her.

Killing Bites Deathival: Preliminaries Arc

Yuuya is seen later in the crowd during the Deathival. After seeing that Pure is going up against Tiger, Yuuya decides that he will not simply stand by and watch her die, as he believes that she was yet not strong enough to take him on. After that, he warns Son Seira that he's going to the battle as well, but before he could so, Hitomi confronts him, saying that she will kill him if he does anything that could trouble Shidou's' plans, Yuuya then invites her to come with him stating that it was inevitable that he would go and not even her would be able to stop him, after that, he starts to transform in front of Hitomi which makes her very shocked.

Yuuya is only seen again after arriving at the place where Ui, Pure and Tasuku were, where the two former were fighting against Megatherium.  His appearance on the site left the three, the audience and the Killing Bites elite stunned by the fact that he was a rare hybrid. During the Deathival, Yuuya gives a glimpse of his power, using a partial transformation in his arms, turning it into wings, enabling him to fly over the battlefield to give commands to the Brutes on the ground, leaving both Ui and Youko impressed with how easily he controlled the hybrids and the efficiency of the strategies he devised.

During Hitomi's Battle against the Megatherium, right before she was about to be crushed by the giant beast, Yuuya saves her. After doing so, he tells her that he was truly happy that she was alive, hugging her while crying, although this could be part of his façade. At the end of the battle, after the dust settles down, Yuuya appears holding Hitomi on his lap after she passed out from exhaustion, wondering what to do. After a moment of reflection, he decides that he won't let her die regardless of what happens. Yuuya then takes off, flying Hitomi to a hospital in Tokyo, flying at high speed.

Yuuya is seen later talking to the doctor responsible for Hitomi. He's told that she would need a long recovery time and that there was no guarantee that she would recover completely. Yuuya accepts the situation saying that he would be Hitomi's arms and legs, helping her in whatever she needs.

Further on, after Hitomi awakes, Yuuya appears next to her offering her an apple to eat. Hitomi then complains about the hospital she is in, but Yuuya asks her to be mature and not to prolong her stay there. Hitomi then asks Yuuya to help her bathe, which makes him somewhat embarrassed, but when she says she'll ask someone else if he doesn't do it, he begs that she lets him do it, saying that he wouldn't let someone else touch her skin. Hitomi consents to his feelings, claiming that he was the only one she wouldn't mind letting touch her and that he, of all people, was the person she trusted most. Yuuya then closes the curtains and proceeds to bath Hitomi. During the bath, Hitomi starts to moan, while asking Yuuya to go faster and stronger, telling him not to stop, which made Pure, who was sitting outside the room, imagine that something else was happening.

Later on, Oshie walks into the room where Hitomi is, only to find Yuuya feeding her in the mouth, which made her extremely jealous of their intimacy, to the point of trying to attack him with a knife.

Later, Shidou goes to visit Hitomi at the hospital. During the visit, he demands that Hitomi participates on his behalf in the Sudden Death tournament, but before she could agree with anything, Yuuya interrupts their conversation, claiming that he wouldn't let her go even if it's him. Before he could say anything else, Hitomi punches him in the face, saying that she was not his property and wouldn't tolerate him speaking disrespectfully to Shidou, and offers herself to kill him if Shidou wanted. Shidou tells her not to harm him, because due to his influence on Killing Bites and his extremely rare bird DNA, hurting him would be a mistake and calls Yuuya to go and talk outside the hospital.

Upon leaving the hospital, Shidou tries to apologize for having ordered Hitomi to kill him but is surprised by Yuuya's punch. Yuuya then says that he doesn't care for himself, but about Hitomi, he asks Shidou how could he use someone as sincere and innocent such as Hitomi as his tool for whatever he wanted, Shidou then decides to explain what was missing in Hitomi, which was concern, and that was the reason why he made Hitomi live with him, and that the reason for his murder attempt was to give Hitomi a new level of concern. He also explains that if it weren't for Yuuya, both Pangolin and Megatherium would have easily killed Hitomi. At last, Shidou makes Yuuya responsible for taking care of Hitomi and says that if Yuuya wants to extend Hitomi's life span, he has no choice but to keep winning.
